Voting & Elections
Right now, Indiana is facing serious challenges to the integrity of our democracy. Efforts to suppress voter participation and redraw district lines behind closed doors undermine the voices of Hoosiers across the state. When maps are created without transparency, when polling access becomes more confusing, and when decisions are made without public input, it becomes harder for everyday citizens to have confidence in their government.
Did You Know …
Change is possible if we act together.
What is Gerrymandering?
District lines and their locations dictate which representatives you get to vote for. Politicians have been using redistricting to draw maps and districts to benefit themselves, not the people.
No matter how Hoosiers might align with a political party, our maps are currently drawn to only support one party.
Your Voting Rights
Are you a college student in Indiana? Did you use your college ID in the last election to vote? With the passage of SB 10 in 2025, student IDs issued by state educational institutions are no longer acceptable forms of voter identification. This places an unnecessary and unjust burden on students who may not have another form of government ID.
SAVE Act
The SAVE Act will significantly impact the voting rights of married women in the United States. It requires that the name on your driver’s license or passport match the name on your birth certificate. Almost 70 million women who take their partner’s last name after marriage would not have a birth certificate that reflects their current, legal name.
