Your Vote Matters in the Nov. 3rd Election
Key Dates: Election Day 11/3/2026, Last Day to Register 10/5/2026
At Women4Change, we connect people, policy, and action to make Indiana a state where women thrive. One critical and powerful way to take action is to vote.
This midterm election is especially important because:
In Indiana, we currently have a supermajority where a dominating party can write its own laws and pass them, and shape the policies and structure of the state – often for decades to come. This lack of balance often leads to a lack of accountability to ensure that laws are fair and consider the needs of those in the minority. There is less discussion and review about what is best for the state as a whole.
Voter turnout can make a huge difference. Indiana has one of the lowest percentages of voter turnout in the country, but in the May primary, we made some gains. Elections were as close as 3, 15, 62 votes in some races. Your vote matters!
4 Steps to Voter Prep
At Women4Change, we want to help you be an informed and engaged voter by helping you to: connect issues you care about to the officials who make decisions; understand the process of when, where, and what you need to vote; know who is on your ballot; and share that information with others in your community.

Our votes influence policy.
Votes directly connect us to the decision makers who draft, support, and oppose policy about the issues that affect us.
Check to see how your legislator voted: Think back to the Redistricting fight in the Fall last year. How did your state representative vote? What about your state senator? Do you know their names? On the Indiana General Assembly website, you can check the voting record for any bill discussed at the statehouse.
Simply go to https://iga.in.gov/
Choose the bill you are interested in. For example, for redistricting, you would enter ‘HB 1032’ into the search bar.
Once you are on the page for HB 1032, you have two options.
1) If you want to see the vote sheets from the committee meetings, go to the drop down menu on the left side of the screen and select ‘Committee Reports.’
2) To see the report from the House or Senate sessions, select the highlighted blue text in the ‘Latest Bill Actions’ section at the bottom of the screen.
Consider how your legislator voted on Child Care, Education, Health Care, Reproductive Access as you make your voting plan.

In Indiana, there are numerous barriers in place that make it particularly difficult for Hoosiers to make their voices heard at the ballot box. Below are just a few pieces of legislation which have further complicated the voting process in Indiana in recent years.
SB-10
HEA 1264 and HEA 1680
IN H.B. 1679
Indiana has some of the most restrictive laws when it comes to voting access. It is no coincidence that we also have one of the lowest voter turnout rates in the country. We are here to help change that!
