All Things MOMMIE: Building Community, Connection, and Legacy for Mothers in Indianapolis
When women create spaces for each other, entire communities flourish. That’s the heart behind All Things MOMMIE, an Indianapolis-based organization founded by Erien Dickens to empower, uplift, and celebrate all mothers—especially Black mothers—through sisterhood, wellness, and shared connection.
This November, All Things MOMMIE will celebrate a milestone: the fifth annual MomsGiving, a signature event that brings together women from across Central Indiana for an evening of laughter, love, and gratitude. What began as a small gathering of friends has grown into a powerful movement centered on belonging, healing, and joy.
A Safe Space for Every Mom
All Things MOMMIE was born out of a deeply personal mission. As a mother herself, Erien recognized the weight many women carry—balancing work, parenting, and community responsibilities, often without the support they deserve.
“I wanted to create a space where women could take off the cape,” she shares. “Where we could show up as our full selves, not just as mothers or caretakers, but as women who deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.”
From its early beginnings, All Things MOMMIE has hosted gatherings, workshops, and conversations designed to nurture both mental and emotional well-being. The organization’s events focus on self-care, sisterhood, and advocacy—three pillars that Erien believes are essential to strengthening families and communities.
About MomsGiving: A Celebration of Motherhood and Community
MomsGiving began as a simple idea: a dinner where mothers could rest, reflect, and reconnect with one another. Five years later, it’s become an annual tradition that fills the room with laughter, tears, and deep gratitude.
The event celebrates the resilience and beauty of motherhood while also recognizing the collective strength that arises when women unite in support of one another. Guests can expect heartfelt storytelling, uplifting speakers, and an atmosphere that feels more like a family than a formal setting.
“MomsGiving is about creating space for us to pour back into ourselves in a world where we carry so much for everyone else,” says Erien. “It’s about legacy—honoring the women who came before us, showing up for each other now, and building something even stronger for the next generation.”
At Women4Change Indiana, we believe that empowering women strengthens democracy and that empowerment starts with community. All Things MOMMIE is a shining example of how one woman’s vision can create ripple effects across generations.
By centering joy, connection, and care, Erien and her team are building something that extends far beyond one night a year. They’re nurturing a model of collective care that uplifts mothers as leaders, changemakers, and the heart of Indiana’s communities.
The 5th Annual MomsGiving takes place this November 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Daniel’s Vineyard. To learn more about the event, partnership opportunities, or to support All Things MOMMIE’s ongoing programs, visit allthingsmommie.com and follow All Things MOMMIE on social media.
