March 8th: Here's what happened this week at the Indiana Statehouse

As the tenth full week of the 2019 legislative session comes to an end, Women4Change continues to be YOUR eyes and ears in the Indiana Statehouse.

Here is what we were following this week:

  1. SB201 (‘Health Provider Ethical Exemption’) passed out of House committee this week and is scheduled for a second reading on the House floor on Monday, March 11th.

  2. Because this was the first week back to law-making after “half-time”, not many bills moved. This past week was filled with informational meetings among legislators. However, the upcoming week is when we should start to see more movement again, so be on the lookout!

A big thank you to our members for continuing to support our work at the Statehouse. We had Women4Change members sending a clear message to our lawmakers through the following activity:

  1. Write to Amend SB12: Letter Writing Pizza Party

Next week:

  1. SB201 (‘Health Provider Ethical Exemption’) has a second reading in the House on Monday, 11 Mar 2019 in the House Chamber.
